Join us in dramatically increasing the effectiveness of nonprofits through targeted pro bono interventions!

The Problem

Pro bono is the fastest growing trend in corporate employee engagement, with nearly 3,000 companies inspired by A Billion + Change to do skills-based and pro bono service. Over half of the companies in last year’s CECP Giving in Numbers survey reported engaging in some kind of pro bono service.

Research shows that this kind of volunteering can be up to 500 times more effective than traditional volunteering, yet many nonprofits are not ready to accept skilled help and struggle to leverage this kind of volunteering.

Coach2Action:  A New Virtual Solution

Points of Light, with the support of Deloitte, is piloting a new initiative called Coach2Action. Coach2Action is a national pilot that matches corporate project management volunteers as “Virtual Project Coaches” with select nonprofits to provide customized support for pro bono project scoping, design and management.  Through this program, we are able to engage corporate volunteers in a high-value and unique skill-based volunteer engagement, while building a pipeline of pro bono service projects.  At the same time, through scores of real examples, we’ll learn more about the obstacles faced by nonprofits with respect to project management, and share scalable solutions across our POL nonprofit networks.

You and Coach2Action

Are you a Project Manager?  Review this role description and learn if you’re eligible to register now to use your project management skills for good!

Project Coaches have the opportunity to expand their leadership potential, enhance their professional network, and exercise core project management skills. Per relevant PMI guidance, certified Project Management Professionals (PMPs) may earn up to 20 Professional Development Units (PDUs). For those Project Coaches that are not yet certified, the engagement can be used as “directing and leading projects” hours for qualifying to take the PMI PM exam.
