Valentine's Day may be over for 2015, but the pro bono Cupid has us wearing our hearts on our sleeves at A Billion + Change. This month we're featuring the heartfelt work that Merck is doing to prevent maternal deaths by leveraging their employees' skills and passion for health care to make a difference in the global community. Merck, through its Merck for Mothers initiative, is helping to bring the next generation of solutions to end preventable maternal deaths. Merck's 10-year, $500 million initiative will help to reduce maternal mortality - the death of a woman from complications during pregnancy and childbirth. Working in close collaboration with more than 75 implementing partners, Merck for Mothers has initiated more than 50 projects in 30 countries - all built for lasting impact and contributing to their vision of a world where no woman dies giving life.
